Oma's Learning Center & Daycare
Oma's Learning Center & Daycare is one of Valdosta's most well-known and experienced childcare facilities. With over 40 years of successful child care and development experience, we have become a staple in Valdosta and surrounding counties. Oma's Saturday Kids Series
A monthly Saturday event for kids ages 4–12 — hands-on, themed, and designed to spark creativity, curiosity, and connection.
What It Is
Hands-On Fun Every Second Saturday
Every second Saturday of the month, Oma's Learning Center hosts a ticketed, age-grouped kids experience. Each session is theme-based — from Dessert Labs and Junior Chef Kitchen to Mad Science and Game Day Bash — with activities scaled by age band so every child is challenged and engaged at the right level. Sessions are intentionally small (8–12 kids each) to keep the experience personal, safe, and hands-on.

9:30 – 11:00 AM Guided, gentle, and fun — designed for our youngest explorers.

Ages 6–8
11:30 AM – 1:00 PM More independence, more creativity, and a little friendly competition.

The Event
A Sweet Day of Hands-On Fun
Kids will decorate, assemble, and create — no experience needed. Our very first Saturday Kids Series event is all about desserts, creativity, and a little friendly competition for the older crew.
Sessions are kept small — just 8 to 12 kids each — so every child gets hands-on time, personal attention, and a chance to shine. Supplies are included. Just bring your child and their appetite.

Ages 4–5
Cookie assortment decorating — kids choose from a variety of cookies and go wild with frosting, sprinkles, and toppings. No heat, no sharp tools, pure creativity.
Dessert shooter creation — kids layer and assemble their own dessert shooters with a variety of fillings, toppings, and garnishes. Delicious and impressive.
Create and decorate cake pops — kids make cake pops from scratch, dip and coat them, then go all out decorating. The best ones go head-to-head in a mini judging round.
